Photographers Focus on Friendly with Bury St Edmunds Photographic Society

This week we have a friendly image battle between Greenock Camera Club and Bury St Edmunds Photographic Society of Suffolk. The virtual format allows us to now interact with clubs beyond Scotland and we very much look forward to seeing pictures from others areas of Britain. The format for the evening is 60 images in total (30 from each club) which will be judged on the actual evening by a guest Judge. Many good pictures and tips on how to improve them will be to the fore

This would be of interest to any photographer from the local area who wants to take their pictures to the next level, or just enjoys looking at pictures. So if you want to develop your skills with Greenock Camera club or enjoy looking  at pictures contact us to join and share in the interest of Photography with others from your local area . The clubs winter season continues this Thursday 12th November at our weekly ‘virtual meeting’. Whether you are an experienced photographer or just starting out and using a phone camera, you will be made most welcome.

To find out more, email greenockcc.info@gmail.com for information on how to join our meeting on Thursday 12th November 2020 at 19:30. Alternatively, visit the club Facebook page or visit their website at www.greenockcamerclub.com to find out more about the club.

Last week at Greenock Camera Club we held our 2019-2020 Annual Print Competition which was held over from last season with Judge Peter DeMarco from Eastwood Photographic. Peter’s judging was very interesting and the members learned from his tips about taking better images and ensuring that we develop our skills to produce high quality prints.  Winners for the evening were Geoff Orr who won the overall best print, best Landscape, as well as winning the Open Colour and Mono. Campbell skinner won the Portrait Section and Ellen Tannahill won the Beginners Section. Congratulations to them all

The Club also runs a 52 week challenge where members submit images on a theme each week. This week is Fireworks with Black and white next week and portraits the following week.
